First ever entrelac crochet cover

I thought you might like to see my first ever attempt at entrelac crochet, I have been eble to do entrelac knitting for quite a few years but whilst watching You Tube I came across a lady who had uploaded some videos on "Entrelac Crochet" so I thought I would give it a go.

I watched all the videos 15 on how to make the cover / blanket and 2 on how to do two different borders I chose the border shown in video 17. I must admit that I was very excited when I had finished it, you could say I was like a "little girl with a new dolls pram!!" I hope you like the photo. If you want to have at entrelac crochet go to You Tube and type in "entrelac crochet blanket part 1" and chose the lady with the id "bethintx 1" she is great and so easy to follow, she even shows you how to "steam block" the finished cover the photo shown is before the border is done!

I have also knitted a few romper sets up which is from a pattern designed by friend of mine who has a website where the pattern can be purchased - http://www.dolliebabies.co.uk/ I have added a photo of a white romper set and of a lime green set  these sets are available to fit either boy or girl from prem (up to 5lb), newborn (up to 12lb) and 0-3months

Also shown is a couple of premature cardigan sets complete with hat and bootees again from a pattern designed by my friend at http://www.dolliebabies.co.uk/

Hello

Hello here I am again can't believe it was 8th June 2011 when I last posted on here. Well I have been really busy I have made the car seat cover I was talking about in my last blog and my friend was really pleased when her mum saw the seat she thought Jackie had bought a NEW one and I have put a picture on here. I have also made a sleeping bag for 0-3mth baby but it is BIG so my guess is it would be suitable up to 6mths, it is lined in pale blue and the outer is quilted gingham with blue teddies and cream coloured bows on and a zip up the front.

I have been busy knitting too, made 4 car seat covers (for the 0-9mth carry seat) they have 2 slots for the straps and buckle to fit through so that baby can't kick it off!! Knitted some romper sets up which conmprise of romper, beanie hat and matching socks.

I have got a "new" sewing machine it is a Singer Futura 2000 and is 30 years old, it cos me £95.00 and it even has its own table, I love the fact that when the bobbin runs out I can fill it without taking it out of the machine it is auto winding

Busy, busy

Hello followers, here I am again seems a long while since I was last blogging. I have been busy knitting a couple of all-in-one sleep suits up one both of which are on my face book page Annies Hand Knits so why not pop along and have a peek.

Alan has retrieved my sewing machine from its hiding place and I am going to practice making button holes on it something which I have never really been able to master the reason for the practice being that I am making a replacement baby car seat cover and I have to make 4 large button holes for the straps to pass through.  I will post a photo of the finished article it will be in a checked pattern some what similar to tartan check so keep a look out

House move!!

Well at long last we are moving, it has been a long time coming but it has been worth the wait. We will be moving this weekend so it is going to be very hectic not much time for knitting (though i do try to sneak in a few minutes of an evening!!)  Went and bought some laminate flooring for the living room decided that if anything got spilt on it it would be easier than carpet to clean :) "Him indoors" is going to decorate whilst I am at work so that I am not in the way and can't keep telling him he is doing it wrong - as if I would haha, well will go and get some more things sorted will be back soon xx

How time has flown!!

Hello folks, well I can't believe it is over a year since my last post....... I must have been really busy!! I am still busy doing my knitting but I have had "tennis" elbow and I don't even play tennis lol so I haven't been able to knit larger projects such as shawls or crochet either so I have done some dolls clothes up ready for the Village Picnic that is being held in my village on Friday 29th April (not that anyone needs to be told the date).  Well best get on with some more dolly clothes will add photos later, oh I did make a scarf out of a new yarn called Tango by Woolcraft - I bought 1 ball (100g) cost 6.00 from Lincoln and knitted this scarf, love the ruffle effect what do you people out there think??

Crochet throw project courtesy of The Art of Crochet magazine!!

Hello well I have decided now which charity I am going to raffle the crochet throw off for and that is Help for Heroes, I know it will take me a while as the magazine is in 120 parts but I feel that it is a worthwhile cause, I know that when these lads and lasses join the army it is their choice and I am so proud to be British if I can help raise a little bit of money for this cause then I will feel that I have said thank you!

I am just waiting for issue 2 to come into my newsagents so that I can do the second square, I have finished the first one but have decided to wait until I have got several of them done before I block them out to 13cm squares!!  As I progress I will take photos and put them on for all to see

Thats all for now folks!!
